At the age of 22, Eliot Shook was thoroughly hooked on kiting. As a senior at Duke University, about to graduate with a degree in engineering, he spent a long night contemplating dropping out to build the perfect box kite. Much to his parents’ relief, he graduated 6 weeks later and went to Detroit to work for Ford Motor Company and marry his high school sweetheart, Cath. A mere 23 years later, his love for kites overwhelmed his love for rush hour traffic. As his youngest daughter packed up for college, Eliot packed up his wife and kite collection to move to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There, he continued to grow his love for kites and kiting, often times commenting to his family on graphic designs he’d love to see on kites. After a few years of taunting him into trying his hand behind the sewing machine, a designer was reborn out of an engineers body. These days, you’ll find him either at the beach flying, or behind the sewing machine searching for the perfect design. Not bad for a guy who used to have a pocket protector, right? The mesh kites were inspired by Cath’s desire for a light pull quad line to fly on the Outer Banks and Willi Koch’s beautiful single line mesh designs. The bargello kites are a salute to renaissance period Italian art. Developed for higher winds often found in the spring and fall on the Outer Banks, because of it's design, it also flys in remarkable lower winds! May be used for winds less than 10 MPH with lighter rods, and well over 20 MPH with 4 wraps.

Based on the original Rev 1.5 design, the John Barresi Signature Series is the ideal choice for any hard core precision or competition flier... After 17 years of competition and nine national quad line championships, John has utilized a number of modifications and features which make this a true high performance package. The sail is paneled with two specific goals in mind... Fist that the grey panels are replaced with screen for the vented model, keeping your vented and standard kites aesthetically similar. And second as the standard sail stretches over time, the grey panels will actually begin to channel wind vertically, increasing precision. To keep you competitive, the B-Series comes with two frames... One 2-wrap (SUL) and one 3-wrap (UL), giving you the versatility of being able to switch your frames based on the current wind, and you can also slide your SUL leading edge rods in parallel with the UL leading edge when the wind is up, effectively doubling your leading edge strength. The B-Series handles are 13" long, and come with a pre-tied adjustment knot system which enables you to increase or decrease the reverse control. Last but not least, the B-Series also comes with a weight kit... Two 2 gram lead weights fit neatly into the end of your spars, and are secured with a short tail.

The Rev 1.5 SLE continues to be the most dominant quadline sportwing on the market today, both with leisure fliers and competitors alike. The 1.5 SLE has a great sail-to-weight ratio which gives the pilot the freedom to fly in a wide range of wind conditions. The ripstop polyester sail teamed with the Super Leading Edge has created a sportwing that is quicker (clocked flying over 45 mph) with enhanced controllability. This combination of speed and control make this model a very responsive and precise flying machine. The SLE boasts an amazingly crisp clean dive-stop maneuver, very impressive to the crowds you will attract flying this sportwing.

The 1.5 SLE Vented model has been designed for high wind conditions (12-25 mph). The double vertical vents on each wing section allow air to pass through the sail. This in turn reduces the pull and allows the flier more control with less stress. The vented 1.5 SLE, weighing in at only 10.4 ounces, will add excitement and enjoyment to high wind conditions by increasing your comfort while flying with total control. This means the ability to accomplish precision moves and stop at will.

Back by popular demand is the kite that started it all ! Joe Hadzicki applied basic aircraft design theory to his innovative idea of a 4-line kite using two independently controlled wings. Increasing or decreasing lift on either respective wing resulted in an ultimately high degree of the controllability of its flight direction, turns, speed, and spins. Since the independently controlled wings can be tilted through an infinite range of angles relative to each other, absolute total control of the kite can be achieved.

Rev II |

The smallest kite in our line up, the Rev II is faster than its larger siblings and is ideal for medium to high wind conditions, making it a great option for those who want to experience the control and fun of a Rev without all the pull. The Rev II is fast and somewhat “twitchy”. We enjoy it the most in high winds (12 mph and above) on a 100-foot line set, which makes the flying fast and furious! Forget precision! Or if you're into pull, the Rev II also makes an excellent stacker... The more you add, the more you get, with all the maneuverability that a small kite offers.
